This talk by Dan Gilbert is a nice follow-up to an earlier post (“The happy secret to better work”).
Here, Dan shares scientific experiments supporting the fact that happiness can and should be something we create within ourselves and not something external circumstances dictate us.
This is perhaps the best ‘scientific explanation’ I have ever seen as to why people who have all the reasons to be unhappy (such as disaster-striken people) are often so resilient and no less happy than well-off people in the best part of the world.
